Not entirely. In fact my first thought was more or less the same when I read the steel wall post.

You're going to argue quantum theory with a physics Ph.D. candidate?

I don't know what to do when I have to choose between a physics PhD candidate on the internet and a civil engineer PhD candidate that is my brother. Anyway, if I think practically the same thing as Envy, chances are that it makes some sense.

Civil engineering is a valuable, productive field. But they do to physics what physicists do to math (to whit: "dirac delta function" -- I can hear thermo's head exploding from here), so on matters related to pure physics I wouldn't take his word for it (besides, ask him how often he takes "people walking through steel walls" into consideration when designing a city).
Anyway, if I think practically the same thing as Envy, chances are that it makes some sense.

The heck does civil engineering have to do with quantum mathematics? ughh why am I in this topic at all :C

He designs chips, not cities. I believe at chip level it sometimes happens that particles are suddenly located elsewhere. Similarly, but way less often, it would be possible an entire person was located at the other side of a steel wall. Either way, I shouldn't be doing this discussion because I for myself know nothing of this matter (yet) and I'm probably just raping my brother's words. I just started posting about it because I felt a SEMI-FAIL stamp would have been sufficient for Envy (at least, on this matter).

Maybe civil engineering is something different in Belgium and in the US...

An interesting question that I'm asking myself too.

They don't make SEMI-FAIL stamps, at least not on the Internet. Maybe you could go into business?
