Re: What is the DS_STORE
I think you should be satisfied and pleased with your work, the way I was (and still am, I guess) with The Gray Incident, even though I also think it's bad. But there's also a time when you need to put something out to pasture.

That's the kind of post I'd write three bottles into a pack of Delirium Tremens.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone completely cranked out of their mind on speed at GDQ, so maybe that's a good way to get your name out there.

Re: Possibility of a Marathon Speedrun
I don't know if you're going to get good advice about speed running here, homie. I think you should set your estimates a little bit above your average run rather than the WR, since you aren't going to get the WR at a live event.

Re: Assorted Rubicon theorizing
Rubicon is a scenario that I've noticed a few third party scenarios have loosely connected their plots to the plot of Rubicon, I want theories as to why anyone would want their stories to conclude with the events of Rubicon. Rubicon the most dower, depressing, and awful story with no happy ending. ...

Re: A fourth Marathon??
I dunno, it's hard to talk about the legacy of Halo without focusing heavily on the multiplayer aspect, since although Bungie (and subsequently 343) did put significant effort in the campaign, they have also heavily emphasized multiplayer ever since the beginning. I was 14 when Halo 1 came out, so i...

Re: A fourth Marathon??
And yet Halo 2 was overwhelmingly well-received because the game was still a lot of fun to play and brought some really outstanding gameplay, particularly multiplayer, to the table. And there were still plenty of good levels. They weren't happy with the story because they ran out of time to finish t...

Re: A fourth Marathon??
Hey, nothing wrong with Halo1 for the pc. I liked that a fair bit, but the pacing of the movement is slow and the jumps are floaty, and the way the vehicles control really cement that the game was designed for consoles first and foremost (plus, they've never been released on PC after Halo 2). I lik...

Re: A fourth Marathon??
I mean, things people like about Marathon are generally not present in Halo, plus they're console shooters which I believe is a fair strike against them.

Re: A fourth Marathon??
What makes Marathon stand out from the contemporaries is the writing , not the gameplay. Divorce the game from the terminals and you have a fast run-and-gun game, pretty much the exact same stuff that Doom did previously and Duke 3D would follow with. Not that that's a bad thing whatsoever, mind yo...
