Close to 12 years old to the day, and there's still thoughtful replies to the OP.

You could just join the Marathon discord, I'm sure they'd make a channel for Eternal development.

Re: Eternal X 1.2
I didn’t actually realise there’s a second uplink chip in “Septococcal Pfhoryngitis” until looking in Weland. Is there a purpose for it? Is it a secret intended to save players time in later levels? Or is it an accident? Only one chip ever actually shows up, but its location is randomly in one spot...

Re: dumb lua testing map
It could be, I haven't used the 1.3 alpha. edit: No, it is not fixed in 1.3a1. If I have any ideas to make the map design cooler, I’ll also speak out, but realistically, I probably won’t, since you’ve probably made more maps recently than I have, and I’ve certainly never designed anything as cool as...

dumb lua testing map
The idea came to my head at one point that I wanted to make a large map in the style of Metroid Prime, or other metroidvanias -- a large, nonlinear map where progress is gated by collecting powerups and equipment and you backtrack a lot. This is not something Aleph One is inherently suited to for a ...

Does that make Phoenix the Marathon fall of Rome or the Marathon dark age? I'm fine either way.

Re: Who the hell is responsible for this scenario??
I'm not gonna lie, I do kinda like it; it's pretty novel for Marathon and the sound design is really good. The actual execution is a little obnoxious and unrefined at times (and it's really hard on TC) but I can't say that it's derivative.

Re: Who the hell is responsible for this scenario??
You have to fix the MML file in the scripts folder, it's looking for the wrong map name. Otherwise I'm not describing it, experience it for yourself.

"Spacial Outpouring" on S7
Just posted this evening. It's... incredibly intriguing and weird, but it's also really frustrating to play and immensely difficult on TC, and I want whoever it is to show themselves cause I got some questions for you bud.

Re: Starlight IX
Here's a familiar story: W'rkncacnter reminded me of some maps I made (apparently about a year ago) and never uploaded, so here they are , because a map pack with 44 maps seems sensible. Several maps also have geometry updates or other bug fixes and I went through all of the KOTH-enabled maps to hav...

I am very close to certain that the "Alien" flag does not apply to player shots, otherwise the M2 alien gun would also scale with difficulty, which it definitely does not.

Re: I will play every level in Marathon and comment on them
There are many instances in Phoenix where enemies will repopulate a room, but it's usually under the circumstance that the player has to cross through a room again, and usually from a different angle than last time. The purpose was predominantly to get extra mileage out of the larger and more comple...

So, uh, since I've made a Sigma-related thread, and in the interest of not cluttering the Pfhorums: Did anyone on the dev team discuss what their plans for chapters two and three were? I'm a little over halfway through now (EDIT: I've finished it), and the plot feels kinda bare-bones. I actually wa...

Double click the line that you want to be solid, and check solid. It's a condition of the line adjoining the polygons, not the polygon itself.
