I believe you said it was supposed to be some Hunter boss from Shadow playing space-football.

In light of current events, I'd like to point out that there is a new map making collaboration in the works.
Xmas I, II, III, Winter I, etc. All collaborations, all had terminals with pictures. But it was usually the generic log on logo, or map layout.
If Ares Ex Machina were to do some work on a terminal picture or two, the finished scenario would rock that much more.

Don't do it at MY expense. Heaven forbid.
But just think about it okay?

True, his art would be awesome in those, but in his first posts he specifically said that this artwork is for a scenario he is developing that is currently in its art design phase.

Thanks, but if I contribute art to another project right now, I would have to give something else up...which I would prefer not to do. At the same time, collaborating on a project sounds like it would be fun. I would like to do that one day, I just can't say when or if that day is coming.

So, are you creating the art digitally or are you scanning it into a computer?

Both!

The player character and the hunter were both drawn in pencil first, then scanned in and painted digitally.

The top portion of the front view of the compiler was drawn in pencil and then scanned, but the robes where drawn digitally. Everything was then painted digitally. Same thing for the back view, only the top portion was redrawn digitally after being scanned.

Hopefully my background in oil painting and affinity for loose brush strokes makes it hard to tell exactly how it was done. This digital art thing is still fairly new to me, when you weigh it against the number of pieces I've painted traditionally. I was thinking about painting some of these traditionally, but working digitally is just so much faster.

Interesting. See, I thought they were oil paintings, but your ability to update them made me think about if they were digital or not. Either way, that's much better than anything I can draw.

Awesome, awesome artwork! Are you on deviantArt by any chance? I'd love to see more!

Looking at your profile, I saw "Shogoki" under your aliases, you wouldn't happen to be the person who drew those awesome "Bob Killer" pictures, would you?

What were the BoB Killer pictures? They sound interesting considering his work here.

This latest rendition of the security officer features the same concept for the suit and armor as seen in the very first image I posted, only minor design changes have been made.

[attachment=3977:marine.jpg]

This one is intentionally a bit less mysterious, since the first image was intended to be a sort of teaser image.

Edit: Infinitesimal adjustment made to boots.

The head looks small. Or the helmet is as thick as tin foil.

Otherwise it looks great.

I agree, that marine looks good! Also, an image of the marine vs fighters or a hunter would be cool. I think it would be cool to see him have a SPNKR, and maybe shooting off a rocket.

That pfhor's flesh kinda looks like it is made out of that squishy foam that was once used for making keyboard and mouse wrist-cushioning devices (before the superior gel-filled ones came along). Perhaps adding a few veins might enhance the appearance, if it's not too hard.

Of course, there's always room for a new Marathon plot to be created, explaining what "really" happened, in which humans, in their corporate greed, were actually hunting Pfhor for their flesh to make wrist-cushioning pads, and the Pfhor just retaliated by taking over the Marathon :D.

In all seriousness though, I am impressed with the work.

I have a question.

When did the Security Officer become a Marine, a god, or something else?
I've always pictured the protagonist as simply a Marathon Security Officer with slightly enhanced abilities due to unknowingly being a cyborg, trapped in a nightmare as he is used to implement the will of rampant AIs.

But where things seem to be going is kinda ridiculous to me.
Some scenarios make the character out to be a god or something, terminals describe the player as if he were god, and such. But hes just a Cyborg Security Officer.

Roots. Remember them.

The player is more like "god" backwards. A dog doing the will of its master.
