I've been helping test a plugin (I also wrote some stuff for the manual) for Myth II called Deadfall. While it isn't entirely finished, development has been going on since March and its almost finished. There have been some delays and I got permission to release the current build to the public for people to try out.
Deadfall is a competitive /cooperative team-based zombie survival plugin. You choose one of seven classes and try to survive the waves of zombies for as long as possible. Manual Here's the current manual if you want more information. Deadfall b18.9 ...and here's the link to the current beta if you'd like to play or help test. Here's some screenshots: ![]() The Pyro is on BBQ duty. ![]() The laser in effect. ![]() More laser. ![]() Say hello. ![]() Teamwork. ![]() He got screwed. ![]() Once a teammate dies, he comes back as a more powerful zombie, so now you gotta kill him again...and again...and again... ![]() Blasting your teammates is never a good idea when they can respawn and rend your flesh. ![]() Everyone loves fire... ![]() ...and explosions. -------------------- The Pf'hak - Read it. -eld- Post here or PM me if you'd like to join. Looks like a lot of fun. I'll grab my Myth CDs when I go home next weekend so I can try it out.

That looks pretty sweet, especially being able to go on roofs and stuff and shoot down on Zombies.
Looks like the fire is attaching itself to the people. Does that happen? Usually in Myth it was just on the ground. I'd try it out myself but don't have my Myth disk with me. -------------------- |

Lighting people on fire was talked about but only in passing.
The fire from the flamethrower has a shotgun-style effect and the ground fire spreads like crazy. It gets a little messy sometimes because of the way the maps were made, so fire can sometimes look odd. -------------------- The Pf'hak - Read it. -eld- Post here or PM me if you'd like to join. I have to say, Deadfall is excellent. I played several levels today and have found it to be quite enjoyable. The Deadfall team has done great work! Also, the first thought that struck me while playing was that Deadfall's style would work excellently for a Marathon mod. Replacing Marines with Marathon Marines, Zombies with Pfhor, and civilians with BoBs would make quite a fun Marathon mod. I'm sure the SitH tagset could be adapted to this, but I might be wrong. I used to mod a lot for Myth, do you think anyone would mind if I took a shot at adapting Deadfall to SitH? -------------------- If you would like to help the MaraPiD project, send me a personal message.

You'd have to ask Jon God, join the udogs hotline (hl.udogs.net) room sometime, he's usually there.

Deadfall goes Gold!
Original topic: http://tain.totalcodex.net/forum/viewtopic...?f=2&t=4634 QUOTE("Jon God") ![]() Deadfall Released! (10/19/2009) After months of development by Jon God with help from Zeph, Deadfall, an extensive modification of Quarantine (http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/show/quarantine), is finally finished. Deadfall is a Zombie based cooperative survival plugin for Myth II. Playable with up to 15 players, Deadfall pits you against nearly 400 AI controlled zombies. Without variety, is plugin a nothing? Deadfall is playable across 15 maps, with 6 unique gametypes and team/ffa variants. To add another layer to the gameplay, Deadfall is class based, and every round you can choose a class to suit your playing style, be it Rockets, or Medic, there are 8 classes to choose from, each unique with their own pros and cons. If a player dies when fighting against zombies, he returns from the grave to kill his former team mates to score extra points, and keep them from getting any more points. Levels range from urban sprawls to snowbound bases, and everything in between, get ready to fight on some of the most varied maps in on plugin. You'll find yourself fighting in quarries, deserts, small cities, harbors, and more on a host of Strangelet maps! Gametype wise, expect some interesting twists, with the normal zombie slaying infection, along with other gametypes including a FPS style deathmatch gametype, with multiple spawn points, and FPS style capture the flag. Touching on classes, there are some of the more obligatory classes, such as the Medic, and Flamethrower classes, but along with them are more original classes, such as the Seeker, with his plasma launcher, and missiles. There is enough variety to make for some very interesting combinations of classes for co-op. The cherry on top of the features is the high standard of graphical quality in this plugin, with nearly all sprites much higher resolution then normal Myth II sprites, and all 15 levels completely detail textured. Deadfall will be the prettiest Myth II 1.7 plugin released to date! After reading all this, what are you waiting for? Go download it now: http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/show/deadfall-v1 Also, be sure to keep an eye on the Official Site for news an updates!
